The Basicz
Before you try and attempt any of my recipes you should know the basics of cooking. This part is only for new cooks. If you are experienced then just skip this section and continue on to the recipes below. This chart will help you understand the basics of measurements, meat temps, and more. Meat temperatures are extremely important because serving undercooked food will make you and your guest sick. This is so important that I have temps tattooed on my forearm along with the boiling point, the freezing point, and the danger zone. Overcooked food will not taste well and will be harder to eat. For example: If overcooked fish will dry out, beef will be tougher and hard to chew and you will lose all the flavor from the juices inside, pork will become like rubber and almost impossible to cut or chew. It is also very important to know the size and measurement that you are applying to each recipe for wonderful results. To much or to little of one ingredient can change the flavor of the entire dish, sauce, or drink. Please follow these recipes exactly as directed.

German Chocolate Chip Kiss Cookies
Prep Time: 30 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Inactive Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 55 minutes
Ingredients:
1 (15.5 oz) German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 (14.5 oz) Rich and Creamy Coconut Pecan Frosting.
25-36 Hershey Kisses Unwrapped
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
2) Add the cake mix and frosting mix to a bowl of a stand mixer.
3) Mix on medium until all the frosting is incorporated into the cake mix. Try not to over mix.
4) Scoop about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough and roll into a ball. I recommend using a cookie scoop so that all the cookies are the same size. If the scoop is to small there won’t be enough room for the kiss. If the scoop is to large the cookie will spread and be flat. If the dough is too sticky to forma a ball. refrigerate for 30 minutes.
5) Place cookies on the prepared pan 2 inches apart. While waiting to fill another baking pan, place the bowl of dough back in the refrigerator unlit ready to fill another pan.
6) Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are set. You don’t want them to brown. The cookies should look underbaked but set. You want them to have a soft texture.
7) Remove them from the oven and immediately press an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss in the center.
8) Let them cool on the baking pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
